Membership Fees & Attendance
Fees
Failure to pay fees in full and on time may result in termination of membership.
Attendance
If you miss or expect to miss a class, you must inform your instructor by phone, text, or email. This courtesy ensures you receive important announcements. Failure to notify may result in termination of membership.
Communication
While urgent/last-minute notices are sent via text message, general announcements about events or holidays are made at the end of class. Parents/guardians should arrive five minutes early to hear announcements. If you miss class, contact your instructor for updates.
Arrival & Departure
Drop-Off And Pick-Up
Please make yourself aware of the car-parking policies at your club. Do not park on footpaths, cycle lanes or in neighbouring residential areas/estates or block residential or commercial entrances.
Before Class…
Please do not enter the training hall before an instructor is present and in the building, even if the door is already open. Parents/Guardians must enter the hall with junior members and wait with them until an instructor invites them into the class; children may not enter the hall unaccompanied.
End Of Class…
Instructors cannot supervise children after class. Parents/guardians must arrive five minutes before the end of class, sign children out, and ensure they are not left unattended; children may not leave the hall unaccompanied.
Outside Of Class…
Please respect our venues by making sure that any children under your supervision do not wander into areas that are not intended for use by the club. Children should not be permitted to play around school premises, community hall back rooms, car parks, etc.
Equipment & Uniforms
Footwear
Although we generally train in bare feet, students may wear a soft sock provided that it has a rubber-like grip on the sole. Students should attend training in a pair of trainers/sports shoes as certain circumstances may require the use of shoes. Please don’t arrive in Crocs, wellies, flip-flops or other unsuitable footwear.
Safety Equipment
All students age 7 and over must have a gumshield/mouthguard with them every week. This is the same type of mouthguard used for Rugby and GAA. Please check instructions on packet as it may require moulding before use.
Uniforms
Our club has a uniform – if you are buying a new or used uniform, or are being gifted one, please check that it is a WARRIOR MARTIAL ARTS club uniform, and not one for a different club or style. You will not be permitted to train in another club’s uniform. If you are not sure, ask your instructor first.
When Buying Equipment…
Students will be informed when they are required to obtain any types of training equipment such as uniforms or sparring safety equipment.
Safety equipment is available through your club, as well as certain sports retailers – if purchasing your safety equipment from a provider other than your club, please check with your instructor first that the equipment is of the appropriate type, since there is a wide variety in types of martial arts equipment.
CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PARENTS & GUARDIANS
It is very important to us that all of our members have a safe and comfortable environment in which to train. Our junior members are taught to follow a strict set of rules regarding etiquette and manners, both inside and outside of training. The behaviour of our junior members is heavily influenced by that of the adults around them. With that in mind, the following rules apply to parents/guardians when attending Warrior Martial Arts classes and events.
- There is to be no distraction of participants. During Examinations and Training, parents/guardians or other spectators must remain silent.
- Smoking, vaping and the consumption of alcohol or controlled substances (drugs) is forbidden in, and in the vicinity of, the training/event venue.
- Coaching/cheering-on of junior members by spectators during any competitive events is strictly forbidden. Even well-meaning cheering can be intimidating for junior opponents, and undermines the ethos of our club. Applause for both competitors at the end of a match is acceptable and welcome.
- Spectators must never enter the training/competition/examination area of the floor without invitation by an official.
- Spectators may only address specific officials at events, as notified on the day. Spectators must never address any officials while they are carrying out their duties.
