Clash of the Warriors 2012
Clash of the Warriors 2012 concluded just before 5pm on Sunday June 17th, with well over 200 competitors having taken to the mats during the course of the day. Each and every one of the martial artists that took part gave it their all in the rings and immersed themselves entirely in the wonderfully warm and friendly atmosphere on the day.
As well as the usual excitement that surrounds a tournament of this size, the tournament’s main success was in bringing together the students of 20 different clubs in a spirit of friendship and co-operation. Those in attendance were a credit to their clubs and instructors for their wonderful attitude on the day.
Great thanks must go to the event sponsors Dunnes Stores, Dogfish Design and Vale Media, without whom the event could not have taken place.
Most of all, the tireless efforts of our volunteers must be noted. Through manning the registration desk, time-keeping, score-keeping, refereeing and photography, our team of dedicated volunteers worked all day, many without time for a break, to ensure that the day ran smoothly and that all students and spectators got to participate in a one-of-a-kind event where the tournament was fair, the atmosphere was friendly and fun was the number one priority.
